ISM Training Services SafePass Courses are SOLAS Approved one-day safety awareness programme aimed at general construction workers, craft workers and “on site” security personnel in the construction industry.
Following a new directive from Solas issued May 2019 training providers are no longer permitted to issues letters of comfort to candidates.
To attend a Safe Pass course you MUST HAVE A VALID IRISH PPS NUMBER. If you do not a valid Irish PPS number you can ONLY make a booking by contacting the ISM sales team on 01-8641790.
Who is responsible under Legislation?
Under the Health & Welfare at work Act 2005 all construction workers are bound by law to hold a valid Safe Pass card. The employer under section 10, 25 & 26 of Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, 2005 is responsible to allow employee’s time off from their duties to attend safe pass courses as may be reasonable having regard to their health and safety without loss of remuneration.

Upon completion of our Safe Pass Courses, all Trainees will have a basic knowledge of Health and Safety and be able to work on-site without being a risk to themselves or others who might be affected by their acts or omissions. On successful completion of the exam participants will be issued with a SOLAS Safe Pass card.
